The Surgical Clinic of Central Arkansas is seeking a Breast Fellowship trained surgeon to join their multi-specialty surgical clinic. There are 14 surgeons in the practice and only one is a breast surgeon.
The Surgical Clinic of Central Arkansas is the oldest and largest surgical referral clinic in the state. They provide comprehensive general surgical care as well as multi-specialty surgical care to the entire state of Arkansas and the surrounding areas.
The need for recruitment is due to the overwhelming need in the community for additional breast surgeons. There are currently very few surgeons available to meet the demand and the existing surgeon has an excessively busy practice. He is seeing an average of 250 patients in 2.5 clinic days and performing over 38 surgeries per week. The recruited surgeon will have the opportunity to step into a full practice just based on the referrals from the existing surgeon.
This opportunity is very flexible and the candidate can determine whether they prefer an employment model v. a private-practice model. There is no general surgery or trauma call required with this position.

BAPTIST HEALTH Medical Center - Little Rock is the largest institution under the BAPTIST HEALTH banner. With a full line of services available, BHMC-LR is equipped to cover the full continuum of health care, from birth to support at lifes' end.
BHMC-LR has always been the leader in heart care and heart transplantation. The need for donor hearts far exceeds the availability. BHMC-LR now offers the latest technology for helping the 5,000,000 Americans suffering from congestive heart failure - the Heart Mate. The HeartMate device is implanted alongside the patient's heart to help the natural heart's pumping capability when required, for activities such as climbing the stairs. The HeartMate allows patients once confined to the ICU to return home and live with very few restrictions while awaiting a transplant. This lowers the costs to the patient and may improve their overall well-being. BAPTIST HEALTH Medical Center - Little Rock was the first hospital in Arkansas to implant this life saving device.
Voted the "Best Place to Have a Baby" for the third year in a row, BHMC-Little Rock Women's Center has expanded and renovated the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to serve premature infants and their families even better!
BHMC-Little Rock opened its Outpatient Center expansion in November of 1998. This 123,000 square-foot facility located on the southern side of the Little Rock Campus, houses the BAPTIST HEALTH Breast Center, BAPTIST HEALTH Heart Center, CARTI and several physician offices.
